Happy new year 2026
What I plan and aspire to do in 2026, and also a happy new year to everyone!
1/1/2026
As we enter the new year, we realise that time really does fly by. It just feels like yesterday was 2025, because it was! LOL!!!!!
Jokes aside, with each day that passes, we feel the need to accomplish more and more. New Year's resolutions are often the most meaningful because they represent a goal we create for ourselves over such a long period of time. An orbital period of the Earth around the Sun represents an eightieth of our average lifespan, after all.
My goals for 2026 are to not get caught up in it all. Sometimes, it's hard to focus on what makes you happy in life when you're always caught up in what to do next, what to achieve next, how to score higher on the next exam, and how to be better than everyone else. Life isn't just about that, after all.
Planning ahead for the future is also hard. Plan too far ahead, and you'll get caught up in "THE WORLD WILL END" and "AI WILL TAKE ALL OUR JOBS". Plan too close ahead, and you'll never think about the future at all. Striking a balance is key.
Rather than be caught up with what I have to do next, I want 2026 to be the year where I focus on what I want to do next. I want to learn new principles, explore new concepts, and create more apps and gadgets that I haven't had experience with before. I want to try to compose some music, stay dedicated to my current projects, and most importantly, have fun doing it all.
Being in high school, I guess it's hard to understand why we all have to do so much all the time. If you ask a couple of people, they might say it's to get into a good college. If you ask others, they might say it's to get ahead in life. What I personally think, however, is that when you learn what you want to do in life, and you do it with dedication and sincerity, everything else will fall into place.
Rather than focus on the destination, focusing on the journey will make everything else easier. After all, getting into university isn't the end goal, it's another step in our pursuit of knowledge. Getting a job isn't the end, it's the beginning of a new chapter in our lives. We don't love just to get married, we love to share our lives with someone special.
Rather than get caught up in where we will go, we should focus on where we want to go, and go there. We should take steps in every direction that we see fit, and we should try new things if we want to try them. We don't have to take advantage of every second, but we should take advantage of the seconds that we want to take advantage of, if you catch my drift. Keeping that in mind, I hope everyone has the happiest of years this year, and that we can all find joy in every day as our journey. Happy 2026!
